Lizard Dance was founded back in 2004, in Turku, Finland. Original line-up was : guitarist Kari Tyynmaa, drummer Janne Aholainen (ex-Ranne), bass player Hannu Hjelm, who also was a singer on “cover to cover” -cd, which was “released” in 2006. The cd contains only cover songs. It was made only for rehearsing reasons... After the release of the cd, Hannu had too much else to do, so Jukkis Kerttula joined the band with his 5 string bass. At the same time, Juha Kisko became a permanent vocalist. After rehearsing at the Barker air-raid shelter, it was time to release a cd “Barker sessions, vol.II”. It was released in spring 2007. The cd contains 4 pure original songs + 2 cover songs. After the release of the second cd, couple of line-up changes were made : Janne and his drums disappeared from the rehearsal room, and was replaced with Matti Lehtonen, man with skills and technics. Matti is better known in proge-music scene... After two floods at the Barker air-raid shelter, it was time to change the rehearsal room, and the new one is in the Soap Center, nearby the Turku harbour. Then Jukkis decided to quit, and new bass player was Matti´s old jamming friend : Timppa Vesterinen, the bassist with cool bass cabinets! January 2008 it was time for a new cd : “ANATOMY OF ROCK”. This third cd contains 7 original straight forward rock songs. The cd release-party was in Rokkibaari Saturday 1.3.2008, which was the first Lizard Dance gig ever! In May 2008 again in a studio. Two songs were recorded for PR purposes, in a nationally famous studio: Musamuusa. First radio interview was 24.5.2008 at local Radio Sata. And 6.6.2008 first festival gig at ValtaRock, in Harjavalta, Finland. First gigs abroad in November 2008, a mini-tour in Estonia. At the very beginning of the year 2009, a new cd “Girls In Line” was released. 7 heavy/rock/stoner songs, and one cover song. After a numerous gigs in Finland, Estonia and Latvia, a new cd “Devil Inside” was released at the end of 2009. 7 heavy-rock songs.
